Con esta nueva incorporaci\u00f3n a la flota de sat\u00e9lites de observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra de la NASA, PACE nos ayudar\u00e1 a aprender, como nunca antes, c\u00f3mo las part\u00edculas en nuestra atm\u00f3sfera y nuestros oc\u00e9anos pueden identificar factores clave que impactan el calentamiento global\u201d, dijo el administrador de la NASA, Bill Nelson.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abMisiones como esta respaldan la agenda clim\u00e1tica de la Administraci\u00f3n Biden-Harris y nos ayudan a responder preguntas urgentes sobre nuestro clima cambiante\u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Esto es lo que PACE estudiar\u00e1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde cientos de kil\u00f3metros sobre la Tierra, la misi\u00f3n PACE estudiar\u00e1 el impacto de cosas diminutas, a menudo invisibles: vida microsc\u00f3pica en el agua y part\u00edculas microsc\u00f3picas en el aire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El instrumento hiperespectral de color del oc\u00e9ano del sat\u00e9lite permitir\u00e1 a los investigadores medir oc\u00e9anos y otras masas de agua a trav\u00e9s de un espectro de luz ultravioleta, visible e infrarroja cercana. Esto permitir\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos rastrear la distribuci\u00f3n del fitoplancton y, por primera vez desde el espacio, identificar qu\u00e9 comunidades de estos organismos est\u00e1n presentes a escala global diaria.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los cient\u00edficos y administradores de recursos costeros pueden utilizar los datos para ayudar a pronosticar la salud de las pesquer\u00edas, rastrear la proliferaci\u00f3n de algas nocivas e identificar cambios en el medio marino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La nave espacial tambi\u00e9n lleva dos instrumentos polar\u00edmetros, el polar\u00edmetro arco\u00edris hiperangular n.\u00ba 2 y el espectropolar\u00edmetro para exploraci\u00f3n planetaria. Estos detectar\u00e1n c\u00f3mo interact\u00faa la luz solar con las part\u00edculas de la atm\u00f3sfera, brindando a los investigadores nueva informaci\u00f3n sobre los aerosoles atmosf\u00e9ricos y las propiedades de las nubes, as\u00ed como la calidad del aire a escala local, regional y global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Con la combinaci\u00f3n del instrumento y los polar\u00edmetros, PACE proporcionar\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n sobre las interacciones del oc\u00e9ano y la atm\u00f3sfera, y c\u00f3mo el cambio clim\u00e1tico afecta estas interacciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abLas observaciones y la investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica de PACE avanzar\u00e1n profundamente en nuestro conocimiento del papel del oc\u00e9ano en el ciclo clim\u00e1tico\u00bb, dijo Karen St. Germain, directora de la Divisi\u00f3n de Ciencias de la Tierra, Direcci\u00f3n de Misiones Cient\u00edficas, en la sede de la NASA en Washington.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEl valor de los datos de PACE se dispara cuando los combinamos con datos y ciencia de nuestra misi\u00f3n de Topograf\u00eda de Aguas Superficiales y Oc\u00e9anos , marcando el comienzo de una nueva era de las ciencias oce\u00e1nicas. Con PACE, los investigadores podr\u00e1n estudiar los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico sobre el fitoplancton, que desempe\u00f1a un papel clave en el ciclo global del carbono al absorber di\u00f3xido de carbono de la atm\u00f3sfera y convertirlo en su material celular. Estos peque\u00f1os organismos impulsan ecosistemas acu\u00e1ticos y globales m\u00e1s grandes que proporcionan recursos cr\u00edticos para la seguridad alimentaria, la recreaci\u00f3n y la econom\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDespu\u00e9s de 20 a\u00f1os de pensar en esta misi\u00f3n, es emocionante verla finalmente realizada y presenciar su lanzamiento. La misi\u00f3n PACE est\u00e1 dirigida por la NASA Goddard, que tambi\u00e9n construy\u00f3 y prob\u00f3 la nave espacial y el instrumento de color del oc\u00e9ano.
