Sin embargo, cuando se vuelve cr\u00f3nico, puede convertirse en un desaf\u00edo significativo, impactando negativamente sistemas vitales y alterando variables fisiol\u00f3gicas esenciales como la presi\u00f3n arterial, la temperatura corporal y los niveles de glucosa. <strong>Este desequilibrio afecta tambi\u00e9n a la microbiota intestinal, aumentando el riesgo de enfermedades <\/strong>cardiovasculares, metab\u00f3licas y trastornos gastrointestinales. Asimismo, promueve procesos inflamatorios que interfieren en la comunicaci\u00f3n entre el intestino y el cerebro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigaciones recientes han revelado que ciertas bacterias, en particular las probi\u00f3ticas, pueden desempe\u00f1ar un papel clave en la mitigaci\u00f3n de los efectos del estr\u00e9s. Estas bacterias se comunican con el cerebro a trav\u00e9s del nervio vago y las c\u00e9lulas neuroendocrinas intestinales, promoviendo tanto el funcionamiento digestivo como la funci\u00f3n inmunitaria. Adem\u00e1s, generan metabolitos que regulan la comunicaci\u00f3n neuronal, impactando positivamente las funciones cerebrales y contribuyendo al equilibrio emocional y mental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bajo este contexto, un grupo de investigaci\u00f3n del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n en Alimentaci\u00f3n y Desarrollo (CIAD) se encuentra estudiando el efecto del consumo de bacterias probi\u00f3ticas, a trav\u00e9s de alimentos fermentados, como <strong>una estrategia coadyuvante para ayudar a reducir los padecimientos derivados del estr\u00e9s como depresi\u00f3n, ansiedad y deterioro cognitivo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>El papel de la serotonina<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuestro estado emocional est\u00e1 influenciado por neurotransmisores como <strong>la serotonina, que se produce principalmente en el intestino y juega un papel clave en el bienestar.<\/strong> Niveles bajos de serotonina pueden causar depresi\u00f3n, ira y otros trastornos. Dado que los tratamientos psicol\u00f3gicos convencionales pueden generar resistencia o dependencia, se han explorado alternativas que aprovechan la conexi\u00f3n entre los microorganismos intestinales y el cerebro para regular estos neurotransmisores de manera natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el CIAD, se ha descubierto que los microbios intestinales secretan neurotransmisores como serotonina, GABA y catecolaminas, los cuales afectan de manera positiva nuestro estado de \u00e1nimo. Ciertas bacterias, como las de los g\u00e9neros <em>lactobacillus <\/em>y<em> bifidobacterium,<\/em> pueden mitigar algunos padecimientos mentales, lo que ha llevado al desarrollo de los psicobi\u00f3ticos, una prometedora alternativa para el tratamiento psicol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Investigaciones de la UNAM<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde la UNAM, tambi\u00e9n se est\u00e1n realizando diversas investigaciones al respecto. Un ejemplo es el estudio de un grupo de cient\u00edficos encabezado por Isaac G. Santoyo y Elvia Mar\u00eda Ram\u00edrez Carrillo, del Laboratorio de Neuroecolog\u00eda Cognitiva de la Facultad de Psicolog\u00eda (FP), el cual revela que, <strong>la dieta que seguimos tiene un impacto profundo en la salud de la microbiota intestinal y del sistema nervioso.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el informe, una dieta con insuficiente ingesta de prote\u00ednas y l\u00edpidos de origen animal durante la ni\u00f1ez puede fomentar la p\u00e9rdida de \u201cantifragilidad\u201d del organismo, lo que significa que pierde parte de su capacidad para responder ante cambios y perturbaciones. Seg\u00fan Ram\u00edrez Carrillo, en salud, los sistemas vivos son antifr\u00e1giles porque aprovechan las dificultades para fortalecerse, a diferencia de los fr\u00e1giles, que se da\u00f1an, o los resilientes, que solo resisten sin mejorar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por otra parte, Santoyo, en diversas publicaciones, ha explorado c\u00f3mo la microbiota intestinal se relaciona con los estilos de vida de distintas poblaciones mexicanas. Un hallazgo notable son los ni\u00f1os de la comunidad ind\u00edgena <em>Me\u2019phaa<\/em> en Guerrero, con una dieta rica en prote\u00ednas y grasas animales, quienes mostraron una mejor conectividad cerebral, atenci\u00f3n y control de las distracciones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La salud mental es fundamental para el bienestar integral de las personas.
